- I'm keen to promote the adoption of the ST-Guide hypertext system as the
- standard application for on-line help on the Atari platform.
- ST-Guide evolved in Germany after 1st-Guide but broadly covers a similar
- area. It's actively supported by both the author and many other
- programmers, mostly in Germany at the moment BUT...
-
- We've just finished translating the German version into English for general
- distribution RSN and it will appear on 'micros.hensa.ac.uk' before the end
- of the month.
- ST-Guide hypertext files feature image handling and context sensitive help
- and it's relatively straightforward to convert your disk based ASCII
- manuals into Hypertexts. Best of al you can do a simple ASCII version
- immediately then as you have time build-in useful links, images and
- context-sensitive features, it grows as your application does which makes
- it easy to keep your docs up to date (even if the printed manual is way
- out of date!)
- Various utilities are included to convert 1st-Guide and other hypertext
- formats to ST-Guide.
- ST-Guide is Freeware but we're suggesting a donation of 5ukp, $10 or
- DM 15 for regular users with a larger donation expected if included along
- with commercial applications.
- ST-Guide (either complete or a use only version) may be included along
- with commercial applications.
- I 'look after' quite a few English language versions of German programs
- and work together with the authors to encourage end users to register and
- would be keen to ensure ST-Guide fulfills any criteria deemed important
- as the 'gem-list' standard evolves...
